General class information
Duration & structure
Most yoga classes run for 45 – 60 minutes depending on company needs. Class times are also dependant on individual needs, they can be delivered at lunchtime, or in the evening following work.
The class usually consists of a short meditation to begin, selected pose sequence and then a finishing relaxation. Teachers are also available for questions and comments following the class.
Experience
No experience is required as our classes are suitable for all levels of yogis, even beginners. Of course there will always be classes of mixed abilities, but those more experienced will be provided with advanced options for poses where appropriate.
Style of Yoga
There are many styles of yoga and each of our teachers have shaped their yoga journey with their preferred approach, so teachers individual classes will reflect this lineage. All of Lauren's classes are based on the Ashtanga stream, which is a flowing Vinyasa and is a quite energetic practice.
Participant numbers
Depending on space limitations, class sizes should be kept to up to 15 participants per class, to ensure all students have sufficient attention and guidance required from the teacher.
Program blocks
Yoga programs are delivered in 10 - 12 week blocks, are to be paid in full at the commencement of the class. You may choose to run 1 – 3 classes per week for staff. It is recommended where possible to offer 2 classes per week for students to obtain the full benefits of a consistent practice.
A few things to keep in mind for you class:
- It is recommended that you do not eat at least two - three hours before practice
- If you can, arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in and make the most of the time.
- Loose the competitive mind set, don't worry about what the person next to you is doing. This is your practice and your time. Leave that for the team meeting.
- Please no mobile phones or blackberries - switch it to silent if you must have it on your person.
